Tain Golf Club

“This Classic Old Tom Morris Championship Links is a must for all Golfing Connoisseurs” – Sir Bob Charles, 1963 British Open Champion

Overlooking the Dornoch Firth, Tain arguably offers one of the best settings imaginable in the highlands for a round of golf. With sea on one side and the backdrop of the mountains behind, every day brings a different aspect to this challenging and beautiful course.

The course was designed in 1890 by golfing great, Old Tom Morris, and the layout of the holes guarantees an interesting round for beginners and experts alike. Nestled on the banks of the Dornoch Firth the sheltered location of the course ensures favourable weather for most of the year.

Our clubhouse facilities include fine dining or a golfers menu at Old Tom’s Restaurant and with a well stocked bar we are confident that you will want to return time and time again.

Nairn Dunbar Golf Club

Come to Nairn Dunbar golf course and enjoy a golfing experience to remember.

Appreciate over a hundred years of golfing history that have carved a Championship links course on the shores of the Moray Firth.

By the time you have completed this superb test of golf you will have used every club in your bag.

Golspie Golf Club

Golspie Golf Course designed by James Braid is situated on the Dornoch Firth with a beguiling mix of classic links, heath and parkland holes. The course has stunning views from all holes of the Dornoch Firth on one side and the backdrop of Ben Bhraggie on the other.

The Par 70 course offers an excellent golfing experience whether you are a plus 1 handicapper or an enthusiastic beginner.

Golspie Golf Course was recently rated in 2013 at Number 69 in the top 100 courses in the UK under £100.00 by National Golfer magazine the highest rated course in this category north of Inverness. National Golfer’s Dan Murphy noted:

‘Beautifully presented and with as much variety as you could ever wish for. Golspie alternates between links, heathland, woodland and even parkland. The consecutive short holes at the 16th and 17th are a highlight.

Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Links

A James Braid Design.

The 15th Oldest Recorded Club in the World (1793).

Our Scottish links golf course enjoys breath-taking views over the Moray Firth, only 20 minutes away from the City of Inverness.  Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Links is the 15th Oldest Recorded Club in the World (1793).  Ranked as No. 34 in the Top 100 Fun Golf Courses to play in Great Britain & Ireland (over 2,000 courses in GB & I).

Our links course was re-designed by the five time Open Champion James Braid in 1932 which forms the basis of the course we now play today.

The greens are not just fast but also deceptive, with tight fairways and strategically placed bunkers throughout the course – the trademark of the all-time master of bunkering, James Braid.

Currently measuring 6085 yards in length the course which has played host 10 National Championships since 2010.  The International Golf Tour Operators Association have also honoured us with an ‘Outstanding Service Award for 2021’ where only eight clubs in Scotland were in receipt of this accolade..

The Club was voted as Scotland’s Best Golfing Experience (value for money) at the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards which were held at the Turnberry resort in 2017 and again in St. Andrews in November 2018.  Ranked in the Top 50 Golf Courses in Scotland (Golf World Magazine).

Boat of Garten Golf Course

At “The Boat”, James Braid created 18 individual holes winding their way through birch trees, heather and whins.

Braid maximised the natural landscape to produce a beautiful and challenging course – not the longest by modern standards but it lures in the unwary.

The Boat is renowned as a demanding test of sporting skill.

Brora Golf Club

Recognised as probably the best example of the great James Braids course designs and certainly the one that has kept to the original vision of  the games greatest architect, Brora hugs the coastline and commands breath-taking mountain and sea views just 20 minutes north of Royal Dornoch and an hour from Inverness.

Five times Open Champion Peter Thomson rates Brora as “the best traditional links course in the world” while writers and players galore glory in its fabulous setting, its superb condition and the devilish challenges this hidden gem offers.

Make sure you include this golfing treat in your Highland Golf Escape.

This is God’s Country!
